Soggy Doggy

Saturday, May 16th, 9:00 - 11:00am
This special event opens up the beach at Walter & Mary Burke Park to your four-legged fur babies! This event is held twice a year, before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Giving dogs a chance to run the beach, this off-leash activity opens the traditionally dog free park setting to well behaved dogs who play well with others.

Pre-registration with proof of up-to-date shots is required at the Cricklewood Recreation Building prior to the event day.
Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 25th, 10am
Each year, the City of New Baltimore Memorial Day Parade remembers and honors those who have valiantly served our country. The parade is held on Memorial day at 10am. We invite members of the community to join us in paying tribute to those who have served our country by finding a spot along the parade route and/or attending the ceremony on the front lawn of City Hall.
The parade marches through the historic downtown New Baltimore and ends at the City Hall front lawn. Following the ceremony, a more intimate display happens at each of New Baltimore's Cemeteries: St. Mary's Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery.

The parade route begins at the corner of Maria and Front Street with a dedication in the park and ends at the New Baltimore City Hall. The parade procession begins at 10am, ceremonies beginning around 10:30am.

Children are welcome to join in the parade by decorating a bike in a Memorial Day theme. Sign up for entry in the parade before Memorial Day at the Recreation Center.

Groups who serve veterans of the Anchor Bay community are welcome to join in the parade procession and ceremonies. If you or your group are interested in participating, please contact the Recreation Center at 586-725-0291 or email Adam the Recreation Programmer at aabraham@cityofnewbaltimore.org.

Start Your Engines is a free, community event and is a great way to start your summer off with a roar!

This event gives children a chance to explore vehicles they observe every day, driving by on the road, but don’t necessarily get a chance to get up close and personal with. They will be able to climb in, touch, honk and explore all types of vehicles from surrounding businesses and organizations. We expect fire engines, tow trucks, police cars, tractors, cranes, boats and much more! The event will take place right in the heart of Downtown New Baltimore.

Trucks will line the streets of Front and Washington with even more activities taking place in Walter and Mary Burke Park. We will have activities like bounce houses, a DJ, games, vendors, food and drinks and other family-friendly activities.

The Annual Trick or Treat On Washington Street is a family event that gets the entire community involved! Without the help from our local businesses, church communities, and local organizations, our department wouldn't be able to facilitate such an amazing Halloween event that draws in thousands of people from New Baltimore and other Anchor Bay communities.

The event is all inclusive with a $5 wristband cost. We invite participants to bring TWO (2) canned good or non-perishable food items on the night of the event. Food drop-off is in front of the New Baltimore Recreation Center.

In past events we have had an estimated 5,000+ people in attendance with over 2,000 food item donations that went to local food pantries and food programs for youth.
